    Stars Of Hollywood & Harvard

What do 8 Presidents, 50 Nobel Prize Winners, 75 Nobel Laureates, 36 Pulitzer Prize Winners, the world's leading business people as well as the following Hollywood actors share in common?

That's right, to the north-east of The States, beyond a watering hole where everybody knows your identify and in the cultural mecca of Boston, MA, rests Harvard University. In this campus, along the corridors and inside the dormitories innocent eyes and lithe wits have shaped the history and plan the future of our planet. Regardless of whether that be America's first african american President or the man on the pulse of social media, Mark Zuckerberg, Harvard has shaped our lives in sometimes insidious, some times remarkable ways. This post reflects on the culture makers and Hollywood's elite:

    Natalie Portman

The Oscar winning star of Black Swan went to and graduated Harvard University. Natalie Portman put her acting career on hold, as she put her education first. She once notoriously explained to the New York Post 'I'd rather be smart, than an actor'. The child star of Leon qualified with a AB degree in Psychology and went onto use her own brand of emotional intelligence to select roles and induce performances that would help to make her among the foremost stars the world over.

    Elisabeth Shue

It is actually a little known fact that Elisabeth Shue attended Harvard University. The legendary actress who appeared in acclaimed movies through the 80's, 90's and 00's Back To The Future, Leaving Las Vegas & Hollow Man, eventually left Harvard to pursue her acting career. Nevertheless, unlike other starlets Shue later went back in 2000 to gain her degree in Government.

    Matt Damon

Perhaps most famously of all, Matt Damon went to Harvard University and used his knowledge to craft and co-write the screenplay for Good Will Hunting with friend Ben Affleck. Matt Damon left Harvard in 92, assuming movie Geronimo: An American Legend would be his breakthrough film. It wasn't, that would come later.

    Tommy Lee Jones

Tommy Lee Jones went to Harvard University during the 1960's. Residing in a dorm opposing Al Gore, Jones made his mark at Harvard participating in in Harvard's undefeated Football team of 1968 and besting competition Yale in "the most famous game in Ivy League history". He graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and went onto ply his fierce competitive spirit into the Hollywood walk of fame.

A Harvard education and learning is reserved for those who show the very finest qualities. Not just your GPA however, but your extra-curriculars and references too. Great luck to you!
