This is a fish that lives in the freshwaters of North America, where it is a state fish for five of the states. The largemouth bass belongs to the Sunfish family. It gets its name from having a very big mouth, a feature that makes identification from other breeds easy.
This breed is dark green, with black or grey blotches forming jagged horizontal stripes on its flanks. It is the biggest black bass and may measure 75cm or weigh as much as 11 Kg. One would expect it to live at least 16 years.
